Clackamas takes 6th at Nationals

Over the weekend, the Clackamas Community College wrestling team flew to Iowa City, Iowa, and competed in the NJCAA championships in Council Bluffs at the Mid-American Center.

With a total of ten qualifiers, Clackamas Community College had three All-Americans and finished in 6th place in the team national standings. Clackamas was 13 team points away from being tied in 4th place with both Iowa Western and North Iowa Area College.

Sophomore 149 pounder Chris Garcia received 2nd place after losing a tough match in the national finals to Northwest Wyoming’s John-David Henderson 3-2. Sophomore 197 pounder John Morin also got 2nd place losing to Dymere Rappa of Camden County College in a 4-2 Decision. Redshirt freshman 184 pounder Haszell West took third after he defeated Jacob Hill of Northeastern Oklahoma A&M 10-6.
