Clackamas Community College released its annual report of safety incidents. 

The 2025 Annual Security Report, mandated by a federal law called the Clery Act, is required by all colleges that receive federal funding.

The Clery Act, named after a college student who was killed on her college campus in 1986, mandates that colleges report all reported crimes on campus from the last three previous years.

This year’s report stated that there were only three crimes reported in 2024, all on Oregon City campus.

One instance of stalking that was reported to the Oregon City Police Department in March of 2024. 

Dennis Marks, head of CCC Campus Safety, said he could not comment about the case.

The other two reported crimes were groping and rape, reported on Oct. 29, 2024, and reportedly occurred on Oct. 24, 2024 according to Marks.

OCPD said a rape was reported but the case was “unfounded.” The reported victim is a juvenile, officials said. Marks said that he provided OCPD with footage of the time and place of the event; the footage showed no evidence of a crime, Marks said.

The Clackamas Print submitted a public records request to the Oregon City Police Department and the Oregon Department of Human Services, requesting information regarding this case.

In a response, ODHS stated they “may be the custodian of some of the requested records” and would inform The Clackamas Print by Nov. 13 if they are able to share those records.

According to Marks, the college has had five reports of burglaries on campus in 2025, which will show up on the 2026 report; all instances were at the former Smuckers building, which once held the art department. 

“For some reason some people in the community think it’s a fun place to break into,” said Marks.
