As we begin the 2026-2027 school year, our campus has some new additions with more to come. If you are a returning student, you may remember construction alongside the road surrounding the school and extensive construction on the sports fields. As the completion of these projects nears, a summary and expected completion date are needed. New students can look forward to the completion of these renovations during their years at the college.

The Douglas Loop is the walking and biking trail around the entirety of the Oregon City campus. Clackamas Community College sought to improve pedestrian safety, expand ADA accessibility and create a welcome recreational amenity for the community with the renovations. The renovations include new walking paths, benches, additional lighting, a new water fountain with a drinking bowl for dogs and improved ADA accessibility. The project began April 1, 2026, and was completed in Aug. 2026, with the campus holding a grand opening ceremony on Sept. 15, 2026.

After former Chief Information Officer Saby Waraich resigned in April 2026, CCC has been on the hunt for a candidate to fill the position. After narrowing down the candidates to four, the college held forums to receive feedback from all CCC staff. On Sept.14, 2026, Jeff Shaffer, Vice President of Finance and Operations, announced that Tim Rager accepted the college’s offer for the CIO position. Tim Rager currently serves as Director of Information & Technology for Oregon State University’s College of Agricultural Services, and before that served as CIO at Linn-Benton Community College. His first day will be Oct. 5, and he is looking forward to helping CCC students find their own path to thrive.

Since groundbreaking on Oct. 27, 2025 at 3:30 p.m., construction has been underway on the baseball, softball and soccer fields as well as the track. Included in the renovations are new restrooms, a grandstand, a storage building, a press box and a jumbo-tron. This highly anticipated renovation project will allow the college and athletic teams to host a larger audience for ball games and track meets alike. The college estimates the completion of all projects in winter/spring 2027.

In collaboration with Oregon State University Clackamas County Extension Service, CCC is planning to begin construction on a new Water and Environmental Technology Center in Fall 2026. The planned location for the Natural Resources Center is to the right of the Environmental Learning Center and before the Beavercreek entrance to the college. This project includes outdoor classroom space, a Water Environmental Treatment lab, land labs, irrigation audit zones, a paver demonstration area and educational garden spaces. This building will support a multitude of programs such as water and environmental technology, horticulture, arboriculture and wildland fire. The projected grand opening is spring 2028.
